Quote Group Mapping

Utilities Menu -> Inventory Control -> Rates/Costs/Prices -> Customer Pricing Management -> Quote Group Mapping

This utility can be used to define the primary equipment Groups that are reflected on the Customer Rate Card, representing multiple similar Groups that have the same rates and rate structure.
Then when a rate update is executed for Customers' 'Tier 1' Group rates using the export/import actions in Customer Pricing Management, the rates defined for the primary or "Quote Group" are also pushed down to each of the associated "Sys Groups" per the mapping table.

This utility can be also be used to update the Group rates for "Sys Groups" from the primary "Quote Group" rates.

If your firm would like to update 'Tier 1' customer Group rates using the export/import tools provided in the Customer Pricing Management but does not want to associate like Groups, click the LOAD ALL button to automatically add all Groups to the mapping table where the "Quote Group" and the "Sys Groups" are the same.

The columns in the mapping table include:

QUOTE GROUP
Enter the primary Group that should be used to represent other similar Groups with the same rates, or select this primary Quote Group from the Group Search window.

The Quote Group can be listed on multiple records in order to be linked to several different Sys Groups.


SYS GROUP
Enter the associated "System Group" that should be linked to and represented by the Quote Group or select the Sys Group from the Group Search window.
Both the Quote Group and the Sys Group should use the same structure and have the same rates.

If a customer has a Sys Group that is part of a Quote Group, it is the Quote Group that will always display on the Pricing Management Export spreadsheet with the rates of the Quote Group (not the rates that are on the customer Tier 1 file for the System Group).
This is because the Sys Group should always have the same rates as the Quote Group.
If the rates should be different, the Sys Group should not be linked to this Quote Group.

The Sys Group can only be assigned on one Quote Group record.

Add quote group rates to new group?
This pop-up is triggered when a new Sys Group record is entered in the mapping table, and can be used to control whether the rates for the Quote Group in Group are copied to the Sys Group rates in Group.

Click YES to replace the rates for this new Sys Group in the main Group file with the rates for the Quote Group designated for this record.

Click NO if the rates in the main Group record should not be updated at this time.

Note: The Export/Import action only updates Customer 'Tier 1' Group rates and does not impact Group rates.

Do you wish to assume this add-mode answer for the rest of your session?
This pop-up is triggered whether Group rates are being updated or not.

Click YES to suppress the Add quote group rates to new group? prompt and to always respect the YES/NO decision just entered until this 'Quote Group Mapping' window is closed.

Click NO to continue to generate the Add quote group rates to new group? prompt when a new Sys Group is added to the mapping table.


Delete tier 1 system groups rate and details from customer pricing?
This pop-up is triggered when a group record is deleted from the mapping table, and can be used to also remove the rates for customers in the Multi-Tiered Customer Special Pricing window.

Click YES to remove this Group and rates from the mapping table and also to remove it from Tier 1 in the Multi-Tiered Customer Special Pricing windows for all customers, as this Group should no longer give tiered pricing.

Click NO if the customers' Multi-Tiered Customer Special Pricing window should not be updated at this time, and to only remove the Group from the mapping table.
This would be appropriate if the Group was going to be added back into the mapping table on a new record.

Do you wish to assume this delete-mode answer for the rest of your session?
This pop-up is triggered whether the Group is removed from the customer Tier1 rates or not.

Click YES to suppress the Delete tier 1 system groups rate and details from customer pricing? prompt and to always respect the YES/NO decision for the deletion just completed, until this 'Quote Group Mapping' window is closed.

Click NO to continue to generate the Delete tier 1 system groups rate and details from customer pricing? prompt whenever a Group record is deleted from the mapping table.


QUOTE GROUP DESCRIPTION
The Group description to be reflected on the Export and Import spreadsheets can be entered the first time this Group is entered as a Quote Group.
Subsequent records in the mapping table for this Quote Group will display this description and if the Quote Group Description is changed for any one of them, the change in the description is reflected on all records assigned that Quote Group.

GROUP DESCRIPTION
The description of the Sys Group is displayed for reference as defined in Groups and cannot be modified.

SORT KEY
The value assigned as a Sort Key for a Quote Group controls the order the records are printed on the Customer Rate Card.
Initially this value defaults from the Quote Group field, but this can be changed and up to a 30 character alpha/numeric maximum can be used. Records without a Sort Key will be listed first in Group number order.
Subsequent records in the mapping table for this Quote Group will display the same Sort Key and if the Sort Key is changed for any one of them, the change in the new value is reflected on all records assigned that Quote Group.

Click OK when the Group list is complete.

Note: Each Quote Group must include itself as a Sys Group in the mapping table to ensure that rate information gets updated, so on exiting the mapping screen the system automatically adds any missing "Quote Group to equal Sys Group records".
