Inventory Clean-Up Export
This export utility can be used to select the products to be
updated and to generate a spreadsheet with the existing values for
the products in the selection range.
Refer to Inventory Clean-Up for the specific
values that can be updated for each of the Product, Safety Notes,
Asset Tag, File Attachments, Fuel, Specifications, and P.O. Codes
exports.
The prompts are:

Accept the date format default as defined for your company in
Company Information, or enter the
preferred format.
i.e. North America = mm/dd/yyyy , European = dd/mm/yyyy
LOCATION OR 'ALL'
- This prompt only appears if the export/import is for 'Inventory
Bin Locations'.
Select one of the following location options:
- Type ALL to include products for all locations in the
report.
- To generate the export for only a single location, leave this
field blank for the Head Office, or enter a specific location code,
or select a location from the drop-down list.
- Type SEL to select a range of locations or locations by
inventory region to include in the export, as outlined in Division Select By Region.
Note: Divisional restricted views set by the operator Access Values do not apply to this
utility.

selected range.
- Click Non-Bulk to only include non-bulk rental products
in the selected range.
- Click All to include sales parts, bulk rental products
and non-bulk rental products in the selected range.
Note: With the "PRODUCT" export this prompt is only
enabled if Rental or Both is selected for the Product Type
filter below and defaults to All when Sales is selected for the
Product Type.
PRODUCT TYPE
- This filter only applies to the "PRODUCT" export as
selected in Inventory Clean-Up and impacts
the Rental Product Type filter above.
Select one of the following product type filters:
- Click Rental to only include rental products in the
selected range.
- Click Sales to only include sales products in the
selected range.
- Click Both to include both sales parts and rental
products in the selected range.
Product Selection:
- Only one of the following three filters can be used to select
the products for the worksheet export.
- PRODUCT, 'ALL' OR 'SEL'
-
- Type ALL to include all products matching the selected
Product Type.

status, and have a Quantity On Hand of 1 or greater.
- Sales Parts that have a Quantity On Hand of 1 or greater.
Uncheck this box to include all products in the range,
regardless of Tag or Qty on Hand.

flag.
Finished?
- Click ACCEPT to generate the spreadsheet or CANCEL to
abort.
Resulting Spreadsheet:
- The resulting spreadsheet lists the Product number, with the
values as outlined in Inventory
Clean-Up.
Most of the values can be updated but there are some that are
included on the output for reference only.
- Modify the spreadsheet with the correct values.
- The date format must match the format defined when the
worksheet was generated in Inventory
Clean-Up.
i.e. North America = mm/dd/yyyy , European = dd/mm/yyyy
- Additional products can be added to the Safety Notes,
Attachments, Specifications, P.O. Codes worksheets, and also the
Asset Tag if the tag is valid.
- Additional products should not be added to the Product
worksheet as the import action will fail to import them.
Note: Blank fields on the import spreadsheet could remove
data.
The Product and Asset Tag imports clear existing values before
importing the new values, so any fields left BLANK on the saved
worksheet will be left blank on the product after the import.
The Safety Notes, File Attachments, Fuel, Specifications, and P.O.
Code imports provide the choice to append/add records to the table
without removing existing ones, or to remove/replace any existing
records so only the imported values remain.
Save the Revised Data:
When the values are all updated on the worksheet, save the
completed spreadsheet as a tab-delimited text file on your
client machine, then use the Select a File to
Upload utility to move the saved text file from your client to
the server in preparation for re-importing the data.
