Interface Error Log Report
This DPL Utility option is only available in the menu
tree on Linux systems when the Telematics
processing has been activated in the Software
Integration.
Integration with the DPL system enables email alerts regarding
non-bulk rental equipment risk levels to be sent to the equipment
service managers and to the site superintendents defined on the
rental document.
Refer to the Telematics for feature
activation and an overview.
Use the following configuration utilities to monitor the alarm
errors and reporting:
- CONFIGURATION
- Select each of the following setup utilities in turn and in the
following sequence:
- When the Interface Error Log Report option is selected
from the Configuration radio group, the following filters
can be used to generate the error log:
INTERFACE NAME
- Accept All to report on all interface types or select a single
option from the drop-down list.
Options include:
- Alarms_GetHead - this interface is invoked when a Data Tag
alarms is sent. It returns the Alarm time, date, Data Tag and
product number.
- Alarms_RemoveHead - this interface is invoked when a Data Tag
alarm successfully updates SRM
- Other
- All
If any of these interface actions "times out" per the interval
set in the Gateway Configuration, then an
'Error Transaction' is written to this log to track the Interface
name, date and time of the time out.
An email is also generated to the appropriate contact defined to
receive email errors in the Gateway
Configuration.
FROM DATE
- Accept yesterday's date or enter a preferred starting date for
the error log.
- FROM TIME
- Accept the 00:00 time representing the beginning of the time or
enter a preferred starting time for the error log.
This is the SERVER time, which is not necessarily the local client
time if the divisions are in a different time zones.
TO DATE
- Accept today's date or enter a preferred ending date for the
error log.
- TO TIME
- Accept the current time or enter a preferred starting time for
the error log.
INCLUDE DEBUG TRACING
- When debugging is enabled in the Gateway
Configuration, the PERL script that fetches alarms and inserts
them into the oracle database, logs debug status messages both to
the oracle DPL tables and to the Linux server.
REPORT OPTIONS
- This value defaults to the operator preference as defined in
Operators.
Select one of the output options to Print a report or export
the data to Excel as outlined in Report Options.
Finished?
- Click the ACCEPT button to begin printing the report, or CANCEL
to abort.
The error log output includes the Interface name, date and time
of the time out, and details.
