This utility can be used to update information in the Customer Information file and also the Insurance Comments by exporting the existing values and re-importing the modified values.
A record is written to the Audit Log to track changes made to a customer's Special Price or Rate code by the Customer Pricing category, and changes made to a customer's address in the Customer Information are tracked by the Change Cust Info From Doc category.
The action flow includes:
Move the Saved Text File for CUSTOMERS to the Server:
Click Upload Customers to copy the tab-delimited text
file created for Customer information from the first tab saved from
Customer Info Export, from your client
machine to the data directory on the server in preparation for
importing.
The Select a File to Upload utility is used
to search for the file and to rename it to "cust_info.txt"
before completing the upload.
File upload success or failure is displayed.
Update the Customers Information with the new Values:
Click Import Customers to update the customer data in
Customer Information with the new values
in the "cust_info.txt" file as outlined in Customer Info Import.
Move the Saved Text File for Insurance Notes to the
Server:
Click Upload Notes to copy the tab-delimited text
file created for the Notes from the second tab saved from Customer Info Export, from your client machine to
the data directory on the server in preparation for importing.
The Select a File to Upload utility is used
to search for the file and to rename it to "cust_notes.txt"
before completing the upload.
File upload success or failure is displayed.
Update the NOTES with the new Values:
Click Import Notes to update the customer Insurance Comments in Customer Information with the new Notes replacing
any existing Notes for those customers.
Exit 'Update Customer Info' sub-menu:
Click Cancel when no further action from this sub-menu is
required.
