Product Barcode Labels

This utility can be used to print barcode information as
assigned in Product Barcodes for a selected
range of products to create barcode labels or to output the label
information to a spreadsheet.
There are two methods available for printing Barcode labels,
that can be configured in the Barcode Parameters settings of
the Company Inventory Parameters by the
Use Zebra Barcode Printers flag:
- Standard Zebra printers are often used for printing Barcode
labels and printer setup can be configured in Zebra Barcode Printers, but this functionality is
not available on Open Client sessions or in the SaaS
environments.
- Barcode labels can be printed using Jasper forms as setup
Label Form Mappings which can be printed
from Open Client sessions or in the SaaS environments.
Note: Though multiple barcodes can be assigned to each product,
only the first barcode setup in Product
Barcodes that does not match the product number, is printed on
the label or spreadsheet.
If no barcode exists for a product in Product
Barcodes then the product number is printed in "barcode" format
on the label.
The prompts to print the labels or to generate the spreadsheet
include:

- LOCATION, "ALL" OR "SEL"

- Type ALL to print barcode labels for products in all
locations.
- To print the labels for products at a single location, leave
this field blank for the Head Office, or enter a specific location
code, or select a location from the drop-down list.
- Type SEL to select multiple locations or to select locations by
inventory region, as outlined in Division
Select By Region.
PRODUCT NUMBER, "ALL" OR "SEL"
- To filter by Product selection, choose one of the following:
- Accept ALL to include all products in the selection.
- To generate the labels for a single product, enter the product
number or select it from the Inventory
Search window.
- Type SEL to select a range of products as outlined in Select Products.
PRODUCT CLASS, "ALL" OR "SEL"
- To filter by Product Class selection, choose one of the
following:
- Accept ALL to include all classes in the selection.
- To generate the labels for a single Product Class, enter the
class or select it from the Product Class
Search window.
- Type SEL to select a range of Product Classes as outlined in
Select Product Classes.
PRODUCT GROUP, "ALL" OR "SEL"
- To utilize the Product Group selection option and to sort and
total the report by group, choose one of the following:
- Accept ALL to include all groups in the selection.
- To generate labels for a single Product Group, enter the group
or select it from the Group Search
window.
- Type SEL to select a range of Product Groups as outlined in
Select Groups.
INCLUDE 0 ONHAND ITEMS
- Check this box to include products currently with zero quantity
in stock.
Uncheck this box to omit any products with zero quantity.
PRODUCT TYPE
- Select one of the following types of products for the labels:
- Select Rental to include only Rental equipment in the
selection.
- Select Sale to include only Sales parts in the
selection.
- Select Both to include Rental equipment and Sales parts
in the selection.
ACTIVE ITEMS ONLY
- This prompt does not apply to Sales parts.
Check this box to include only active Rental products.
Active Rental products must have at least one Fixed Asset tag with
an Active status.
Uncheck this box to include all products.
INVENTORY ITEMS ONLY
- Check this box to only include products flagged in Sales Inventory or Rental
Inventory as "Inventory" items.
Uncheck this box to include all products, regardless of the
"Inventory" status flag.
REPORT OPTION
- The following actions apply to printing labels versus
spreadsheet from this utility:
- If your firm uses Jasper PDF to print labels per the Barcode
Parameters flag in the Company Inventory
Parameters, this Report Option always defaults to
Print regardless of the operator default, but can be changed
to spreadsheet if required.
- If your firm uses Zebra printers per the Barcode
Parameters flag i, the Company Inventory
Parameters, any SaaS or OC sessions will always output the data
to a spreadsheet and the Print option is not available, because
Zebra Barcode labels are not supported by Open Client or in SaaS
environments. .
Options include:
PRODUCT SORT SEQUENCE
- The product barcode labels can be sorted and printed in a
preferred order.
Select the desired sort sequence from the drop-down list.
PRINT ON HAND QUANTITY
- The print label quantity values do not apply to the spreadsheet
output format.
Check this box to default the number of labels to print to the
current quantity On Hand for each product in the selection
range.
Quantities can be modified for individual products in the Product Barcodes To Print window before
printing.
Uncheck this box to manually define the quantity of labels to
print for each product in the following Quantity field.
- QUANTITY
- This field is disabled if the Print On Hand Quantity was
selected for the default.
Enter the number of barcode labels required for each
product.
Quantities can be modified for individual products in the Product Barcodes To Print window before
printing.
Finished
- Click the ACCEPT button to begin printing the label
information, or CANCEL to abort.
EXPORT TO EXCEL window:
- If the label information is being output to a spreadsheet, the
columns to be included can be selected.
Check each of the fields that are to be exported to the spreadsheet
for each label.
Columns include:
Product Number
Product Description
Minimum Re-Order Quantity
Maximum Re-Order Quantity
Barcode Number.
PRODUCT BARCODES TO PRINT window:
- The Product Barcodes To Print screen is
generated if Jasper PDF or Zebra labels are to be printed to allow
the quantity to be modified as required.
SELECT FORM TO PRINT window:
- When Jasper PDF labels are used per the Barcode
Parameters settings in the Company Inventory
Parameters, the Select Form To Print
window is generated to be select the label and to set the blank
label position.
BARCODE LABEL PRINT OK
- This pop-up is triggered after the labels are printed to a
report or label
Click NO if the labels need to be reprinted again now.
Click YES if the labels printed successfully.
Note: A limit of 500 labels can be printed per job.
If more than 500 labels are required, a prompt is triggered that
another job is pending.
