This program can be used to delete a lease in one step. The
lease does NOT have to be terminated before being deleting. When
the lease is deleted, the products on the lease are immediately
returned to inventory.
Terminated lease information can be saved for a period of time.
Once all items on the lease have been returned/sold and the lease
is terminated. Terminated leases are skipped on all billing runs
and reports, but they do take up space and should be deleted as
part of regular housekeeping.
Some firms delete the lease immediately after it has been terminated. Other firms wait three to four months, then delete the lease if all invoices from the lease have been paid. Even if the lease has been deleted, Lease Billing Inquiry can still be used to determine the invoices created from the lease. Once it has been deleted, the lease can no longer be viewed in Leases.
NOTE: Deleting the lease does not delete any invoices created
from the lease.
If the lease has been billed incorrectly, the invoice can be
deleted (if unposted and still current) using Delete A Single Invoice.
If the invoice has already been posted, a credit invoice must be
issued.
