The serialized sales part monitoring process provides the ability to determine the Life-meter units of service that can be expected from each serialized sales part, by tracking meter usage through use of the specific serialized part on a Work Order for a Non-Bulk Metered Rental product.
This processing applies only to serialized sales parts that are
flagged as "tracked items" in Sales
Inventory, and that are then added to a Non-Bulk Metered Rental
product using Work Orders.
The usage for the serialized part number tracking begins with the
meter units of the associated Non-Bulk Metered Rental product when
the W.O. is closed and ends with the meter units when the part is
next removed or replaced on a later Work Order.
It is when the serialized sales part is removed or replaced through
a W.O. closing that period of use on the metered item, that the
units used are reflected in this inquiry/report.
The same serialized sales part is sometimes re-used on a different Work Order on a different Non-Bulk Rental product, where usage tracking is continued.
The tracking flag and ongoing meter tracking details can be viewed in Inventory Inquiry.
This Serialized Sales Meter Usage inquiry or report can be used to report the closed usage tracking details and to evaluate the life expectancy of a serialized sales part.
The prompts are:
Uncheck this box to only include the closed tracking records for serialized parts used on a specific Metered Non-bulk Rental Product.
Accept the current month start, or enter the starting date for
the reporting date range.
This is not the invoice date. The From & To Date
range refers to the date that the part was used on the Work
Order.
Select Display to view the output on an inquiry
screen.
The resulting inquiry lists any serialized sales items used on a
W.O. in the range, that are tracking meter usage.
Windows on the Active and on the Expired fields
provide the ability to view the Work Order numbers, dates, serial
numbers, and meter usage readings.
A window on the W.O.# provides access to the Work Order to drill
down to the W.O. details including Labor, Parts, Services, Header,
other related Work Orders for the same metered non-bulk rental
product and open contracts, as outlined in View Document Information.
