Change Class on Product
Utilities Menu -> Inventory Control -> Update Class/Group/Vendor on Product ->
CLASS button -> Change Class on Product
This utility can be used to change the Sales Product Class or Rental
Product Class on a specific Sales
Inventory item or Rental Inventory
item, or to change the Product Class assigned to a Group also changing all the products in the Group
to this new Product Class.
The prompts are:

- TYPE
- Select one of the following methods of selecting the products
to be updated:
- Select Group to change the Product Class on the Group
and to change all products within that specific Group.
- Select Product to change the Product Class for a single
specific product.
PRODUCT #
- This field is enabled when the Class is to be changed for a
single product.
Enter the product number requiring a change of Class, or it up in
the Inventory Search window.
GROUP
- This field is enabled when all the products in a Group are to
be changed.
Type in the desired Group number, or look it up in the Group Search window.
CLASS
- If a single product is to be changed, the current Product Class
assigned to this product will display.
If all products in a Group are to be changed this field will be
blank as there could be multiple Classes assigned.
Enter the new Product Class number to be assigned to the
products, or select it in the Product Class
Search window.
The Class change is tracked in the Audit
Log.
Finished?
- Click ACCEPT to proceed, or CANCEL to abort.
Certain restrictions are maintained, such as a rental product
cannot be assigned a sales class, and a sales part cannot be
changed to a rental class.
All other products will be converted to the new Product
Class
