Gross Margin Analysis Report
This report considers monthly revenue, and the costs such as
repairs, maintenance, COGS, and depreciation, when determining
profitability of rental or sales items. The higher the Gross Margin
percentage, the greater the profitability.
The option to also include lease payments in the costs is
provided.
The prompts are:

- FROM PRODUCT CLASS
- Leave this field blank to include all classes, or type in the
beginning product class, or select a starting class from the
Product Class Search window.
- TO PRODUCT CLASS
- Leave this field blank to include all classes or type in the
ending product class, or select an ending class from the
window.
FROM PRODUCT GROUP
- Leave this field blank to include all groups, or type in the
beginning product group, or select a starting group from the
Group Search window.
- TO PRODUCT GROUP
- Leave this field blank to include all groups or type in the
ending product group, or select an ending group from the
window.
USE SUMMARIZED TOTALS
- Uncheck this box if the financial data has not been summarized
or if the report is to be based on the dates specified in the
From/To Date fields.
Check this box to base the report on the financial data that has
already been summarized in Summarize for
Inventory Reports by Period.
The summarized date selection will display in the From/To
Date fields. These dates cannot be changed unless the data is
re-summarized.
FROM DATE
- Enter the starting date for the report.
If summarized data is to be used the summarized start date is
displayed and cannot be changed unless the data is
re-summarized.
- TO DATE
- Enter the ending date for the report.
If summarized data is to be used the summarized end date is
displayed and cannot be changed unless the data is
re-summarized.
SORT BY GROUP
- Check this box to list the products within group within product
class. Groups subtotals will be printed.
Uncheck this box to just sort the products by product class without
groups.
SORT BY PRODUCT NUMBER
- Check this box to print in product number order.
Uncheck this box to print in product description order.
DATE DETAIL
- Check this box to print date detail for each product.
Uncheck this box to print totals and no date detail. Disposed
product activity will be included.
SKIP ITEMS WITH NO ACTIVITY
- Uncheck this box to include all products.
Check this box to ignore products having no income in the specified
date range.
NEW PAGE PER CLASS
- Check this box to print each Product Class on a separate
page.
Uncheck this box if paging by class is not required.
INCLUDE SALES ITEMS
- Check this box to include sales Items.
Uncheck this box to ignore sales items.
INCLUDE DISPOSED ITEM ACTIVITY
- Check this box to include activity of products in all months,
even the months after the products have been disposed or sold.
This field is checked and cannot be changed when Summarized
Totals or when no Date Detail options are used for the
report.
Uncheck this box to exclude any activity of sold items in the
months following the disposal.
Activity before and within the month of disposal will still
print.
INCLUDE FINANCING
- Select one of the following finance options:
- Click Lease to include lease payments in the costs used
to calculate the Gross Margin for non-bulk and bulk products, as
entered in the Leasing Information window of
the Rental Inventory.

Click Asset Finance to include financing payments in the
costs used to calculate the Gross Margin for non-bulk products as
entered in the Asset Financing Information
window of the Rental Inventory and then to
further specify the payment portion, select from the following
options:
- FINANCE COMPONENT
- Select one of the following finance portion options:
- Click Interest to only include the interest portion of
the payments in the costs used to calculate the Gross Margin.
- Click Principal to only include the principal portion of
the payments in the costs used to calculate the Gross Margin.
- Click Both to include the complete finance payment
(principal and interest) in the costs used to calculate the Gross
Margin.

Click No to exclude any lease payments or any financing
payments from the cost totals on this report.
REPORT OPTIONS
- This value defaults to the operator preference as defined in
Operators.
Select one of the output options to Print a report or export
the data to Excel as outlined in Report Options.
Finished?
- A printer can be confirmed or re-selected from the Printer
option located on the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Click the ACCEPT button to generate the output, or CANCEL to
abort.
Note: Products could be omitted from the report output under the
following conditions:
1) outside class or group range
2) no activity within the date period
3) outside date range and not using summary selection option
4) date acquired is after "To" date
5) no quantity on hand and using the exclude disposed items
filter
