This menu option is used only when Operators by Division processing is activated from Company Information.
Divisional output options can be maintained in the Report
Devices by Division window in the "Printer Setup" parameters on the
System tab of the Configure System
Settings.
An operator must be assigned a Security
Role that allows permission to the System - Divisional
Printers in order to access this table.
After prompting for a Division, it is similar to System-Wide Printers.
Head Office printers are still controlled by System-Wide Printers so blank is not valid in the
Division selection field.
Device Name Restrictions:
Device name cannot contain ">" character.
Device name cannot contain a "/" character unless path is /dev/null
or starts with /tmp/
Device name can not be a directory.
Defining a Remote Printer:
In the 'Divisional Printers' table, additional print flags
can be defined in the device name field.
Such as if the print server is a remote server, the server address
can be entered after the printer name:
e.g. Zebra1 -h 127.0.0.1:1234 will print to printer Zebra1 using
the print server 127.0.0.1 on port 1234
Selecting the Printer in a Session:
Once the printers have been setup, a printer can be confirmed or
re-selected from the Printer option located on the menu bar
at the top of the screen, or by clicking on the SET
PRINTER button on the main menu screen as outlined in
Printer Selection.
Texada Web Printers:
Printers can be setup for printing the Work Order Tag and for In
Yard Return Receipt when Texada Web is configured in Logistics.
The Texada Web printer is always a divisional printer based on the
default division of the operator assigned in the Operator Codes details.
To designate this Texada Web printer as a Zebra printer, enter
the 'Report Device Description' and 'Type'
Z.
The other values in this table do not apply.
This option supports generating .png image files that can be run
from a web service.
Print jobs are queued by Texada Web by calling
TK_WSI_PRINT_WORKORDER_TAGand are processed by a scheduled Linux
job through the task scheduler when a entry is setup for user tsi
the crontab.
In Yard Return Receipt printing:
The In Yard Return slip uses an email address to select the printer
from the Mobile device.
The printer must be a device printer on the FeetLogic Linux/Unix
server and the printer Type in the Division printers table must be
'F'.
When the printer type is 'F' a unique email address can be entered
in the expanded Printer detail line of the Division Printers
table. This address does not need to be a valid email address.
This printer email address will be included in the In Yard Return
email selector list on the "Sign Off" screen of the Mobile device,
and when selected will send the 'Return Slip' to the associated
division printer.
