Vertex Tax Calculation Trace

This utility can be used to view the document input details in XML format, that Texada SRM sends to Vertex, and also the taxing information that Vertex Software calculates and returns to SRM for billing.
The Vertex tax method must be setup with connection information in Company Taxing Parameters.
The two XML traces can be triggered by a specific document or by defining customer/division/amount values, and optionally printed as required.

This utility can be accessed from the Utilities menu for Taxing.

The prompts are:

DOCUMENT TEST

Enter the document number in the corresponding document type field.
A trace can be triggered by Contract, Reservation, Invoice, Estimate, Work Order, Sales Order, Rental Quote, or Sales Quote.
Windows are provided to search for and select the relevant document.

CUSTOMER TEST

This field can be used to test the Vertex tax calculations by Customer/Division/Amount, without requiring an existing document.
Windows are provided to search for and select the Customer/Division/Amount values.

Trace Paging Screens:

1. Document Request - provides the document details in a Vertex Envelope, being output from SRM to Vertex.
   The option to Quit out of the screen or to Print the XML data is provided.

2. Vertex Tax Library - provides the taxing calculation details returned from Vertex, with any errors reported.
   The option to Quit out of the screen or to Print the XML data is provided.

   If the document address validation has failed, the check address error is displayed in place of the 'Vertex Tax Library' trace screen.
   A window is provided on the check error pop-up message to view the XML error script.
   The option to Quit out of the screen or to Print the XML data is provided.
